Shift

2022 has been challenging to put it lightly. I won't dive too deep into these challenges, but they've been significant and constant for a long while now. Significant enough to make me truly reflect on what BDP means to me and it's future.

In a world that is deeply repressed regarding sexuality, female nudity and the female form it's been tough (to really undersell it). We've been banned from posting on most social media sites, had several banks reject us, Google flagged & banned us, and have had long standing accounts shut down for "pornography". (There seems to be a general inability to differentiate between pornography and mature content on the interwebs. I've been fighting on the front lines for years now to try to educate and stay afloat.)

Needless to say (but I will anyway), it's taken its toll on me. BDP is largely a one woman show, and keeping up with all of the needless obstacles is just frankly too much for me at this stage of my life. So I've been thinking “what can I do to still bring joy to the world, while not feeling like I'm fighting a tsunami with a soup ladle?”

Bunni Devereaux Photography at its heart has always been about evoking a feeling. About my pure desire to make art that makes people feel good, confident and embrace their sexuality & body. About connection and putting beautiful, positive energy into the world and those around me. Lastly, about allowing me to create art that feels authentic and contributes what I feel the world needs more of.

All of this to say, BDP will be changing course. Moving forward, I will be creating intimate fine art (primarily prints, wall art & art books). The goal will be to sell my work in galleries, at festivals, our online boutique and Etsy store. I will still be focusing on showing the world the beauty of "real" bodies (everyday folks and amateur models who are comfortable signing a full model release apply within), and dive into the deep well of concepts I have stored in my noggin.

What does this mean? Well in short, I'll no longer be offering bespoke sessions to clients after our existing bookings have been completed. I will allow folks to submit their names for upcoming shoot themes, and select a "muse" for each (more on this to come in September). Any clients with an unused complimentary session, please reach out to me to discuss scheduling your complimentary shoot if you'd like to claim it by 11/30/2022.

I started this business with the sole purpose of making everyday people feel amazing about themselves. I can happily say I've been successful 99% of the time, and for that I am proud. In that success, I've made some amazing new friends along the way, and found connections with all of you that I will forever treasure. I want to thank you all for your support through the years, and am so very honored that you have trusted me with such a personal experience.

I hope y'all will stick around as there's a lot of new art to come and I can't wait to show you what I have cooking, with renewed energy and enthusiasm.
